Sarcasm of course (not directed at you but at others here, and some in the media, who have thought it is Donald with the 4 Aces in his hand).
Donald indeed has no leverage to speak of other than that the Rams want his services. Beyond that.....zip. Nothing. He's under contract, and he can only play for the Rams as long as the Rams hold his rights. And NFL wise, that is in perpetuity, generally speaking.
Rams would not, and will not, trade him. They may not get his services, but neither will any one else.
This has always been about more than AD; I guess he and his agents just don't understand that. The Rams cannot make a non-premium position a premium one without consequences for every contract that is pending renewal soon. No special deals. No breaking the mold. Just lots of money.
But.....we'll see if he really does report for the first game. And if there really is going to be a new contract.
I'll tell you this much: if I'm McVay on day one AD runs his conditioning test.
