is several things.
1. That there are any "people in the know" (like the guy who said this) who actually know how the season is going to play out and which teams are going to make the playoffs. As if these people aren't surprised year after year by one team and another, either positively or negatively.
2. That NFL offices are completely cynical about the chances of their own team, and write whole seasons off in advance.
3. The implication then being, that fans are a bunch of rubes, goobers, and fools, who are just being exploited into being excited about their team, when their own team doesn't really believe it.
If the day ever comes, when I believe that the Rams aren't at least trying their best to win any and every given season, then I'm outta here. And I'm not outta here yet.
