Me thinks so!

I said earlier today that this opt-out clause issue will probably be a main subject of the CBA renegotiation in 2021.

It's the most fair thing for the players...

But for the Rams it's the incentive to pay AD early especially since they can control him for the next 4 years for a very inexpensive amount.

I don't think recognition of his earning a new contract and the desire to have a good rep as a team is enough incentive for them from a business standpoint.

Hence, the stalemate.
