Ya, it's only preseason, so the kool-aid jar is set to steady drip. Not quite bonging out of the keg yet.
But I can see it out on the field regardless of who's out there, what the score is, or how much time is on the clock. There is a "try hard" that is different from what it has been in the past. Not reckless abandon, but focused.
What Mannion and the rest of the offense did after the Raider touchdown was pretty clutch. I haven't seen that from this club in a long time. Guys not just going out and dropping passes, running sloppy routes, etc. There was a different level of intensity that I haven't seen from this squad in a very, very long time.
I've heard of cleaning up mistakes when we made them before in preseason. "Oh, we'll fix that". The difference in last week and this week was surprising. Gone were the fumbles and stupid errors.
I'll have to watch it again and give a better look. But the first review after my early-morning watch was pretty darn positive. I know preseason "doesn't matter", but to me, this one absolutely does. I could care less about the score, or who wins or loses, just how these guys are coming together. I like what I'm seeing. Can't wait for next week.
Best,
Laram
