I loved his comments to his mom, Vermeil, Trent Green (favorite part) ... but it felt too rehearsed. I'm sure I'll catch heat for that, after all, I will never be in that position to relate...... but I'm being honest when I say it wasn't as special for me as I hoped it would be.
Reading into it or not, I feel like barely mentioning Martz was telling. And despite what he said about not calling out individual teammates, I was very disappointed that he didn't. Also, it looked like only Bruce, Holt, Green and Fitzgerald were shown in the audience?! Bummed to not see Proehl, Tucker, R. Williams, Gruttadaria, etc. No camera shots of Faulk or Pace??
He was a classy as ever, but I would be lying if I didn't say I was a little disappointed in his speech and the coverage. To be honest, he looked like a talented, camera ready 'talking head'....... and that was a bit of a bummer for me.
More Heat Incoming: He is my all time favorite Ram in a landslide. He graces the walls of the man cave, next to Dickerson and Cromwell. But I would be liar if I didn't say that I feel Kurt's whole 'vibe' has changed over the years and I haven't liked it much. He seems like he has taken on talking in the third person and an aura that resembles his wife. Just being honest.
1999-2001 will forever live in my heart as something incredibly special. That is where all those players 'live' for me.
Jason Taylor's speech was my favorite.
