Why should the Rams give him anything? He's already under contract. He's the one that is not honoring his signature; not the Rams.
Let him swing. He's going to boycott the team with 2 years left on his rookie contract? Ridiculous.
If he doesn't report within a couple of weeks, then he loses an entire year towards FA eligibility. No way he does that.
Rams should end negotiations until he reports (at a minimum) and perhaps tell his agents that they won't even discuss it any further until the end of the coming season......because Donald has yet another year of obligation after that.
Rams can use that cap space to sign other important players like Ogletree, Joyner, and perhaps even Barwin.
Donald is way off base on this; and I suspect he's not going to get a lot of fan support for taking this unreasonable stance.
Think Bellichek and the Pats would bend to AD's demands? Of course not. And that's why they remain in the Super Bowl echalon year after year. No player holds that team hostage. And bad team or not, the Rams shouldn't either. Not if the Rams want to create a new culture.
