They are reasons why something happens. Not sure why that i a bad thing.
As for Goff, well I'm not aware of any player ever playing better than they do their rookie year. Especially QB's. He sucked last year, he must do worse this year. That's how most of the media is viewing it and a few on this board as well. The OL sucked last year. It couldn't possibly be better. Hurley sucked last year... you get the idea. For whatever reason some people just can't wait and see. Its easier to just say they will win 4 games at most and be done with it.
It really is just win. Doesn't matter how. And cheat all you want EXCEPT for PED's, then you should be exiled to another planet. But cheat to win games and superbowls and pad stats and you're the GOAT. lol... just the way it is.
Anyway, it's when there is NO excuse that its a bad thing. If Goff had NO excuse for his play then that would be way way different than having legitimate and logical excuses (or reasons, smh) for his play. Some of which you mentioned. If there are excuses then something must be done about them. Fired the coach, most of the staff and most of the staff. Brought in a proven OC as HC and then other proven coaches. Brought in an All Pro LT. Made some moves... so far so good, IMO I hope they continue to make the team better and make it easier for players to succeed.
I am in a wait and see mode but I'm not sure what to expect. I guess we will learn something during training camp... a little more with the preseason games and a little more in the regular season.
If we could magically have put Goff and Gurley and the Cowboys last season and put Prescott and Elliott on the Rams I wonder if the general media/fan perceptions would be different.. fodder, i know,
