We've seen the movie many times before. A very good coordinator gets promoted to the HC position and fails miserably. I'm not saying this is going to happen to Shanny, but just because he's a proven OC doesn't mean he's a lock to be a successful HC.
While I agree that we've seen many hot coordinators fail as HC's I do think Shanny has a bit more chance for success having dad to lean on for so many issues that doom a new young coach.
Add in his contract length and having a young team already stripped down with no prima dona players to rebuke him AND a team where he will get his QB either in FA or the next draft and those factors will also favor him in breeding success..
The race to leave the cellar is going to be interesting in the coming few years between SF & LA. Rams roster is better now but if Donald leaves (could you imagine him going to SF??) and Goff doesn't pan out, the pendulum could swing quickly...
R.I.P. Nelson aka TonyHunter87 1971 - 2017 far too soon..
Your last words to me: "Your a great guy RFIP. I was very sad when you left the board, and your son, but was glad to see you back. Take care my friend, may God be by your side." 09/09/2017 12:58AM
No Nelson, you were a far better man than I, and I am sure an awesome husband and father as well. I will miss you my friend. -RFIP
