Quinn has been a major disappointment since his one great season.
Grits
Quinn has been INJURED. I don't count injured as the player being a "major disappointment."
If the effect was permanent then yeah we'll find out.
But between 2012-2014 he had 40 sacks.
Who was the last Ram to have 40 sacks in 3 seasons?
Little was close enough in 2001-3 with 39.
K, Carter before that with 39.5 from 98 through 2000.
Here is the point ZN, you saw what happened to Chris Long and some of that was due to injury. You cannot carry a guy year to year who is not producing, injury or not. Just the way it is. Even Deacon Jones who was far superior to Quinn or Long or Carter was eventually traded once his production slipped.
Deacon as I recall had a sprained arch in his foot and he could not push off. Not sure why but, I guess the Rams felt he had lost something but he had some good years for the Chargers too.
Grits
Well it's pretty clear they are not going to carry a guy year to year who does not produce. But at the same time you don't just discard a guy who has been injured IF he can still play. Just because one guy fell off due to accumulated injuries doesn't mean every guy who has been injured necessarily has that fate.
So it is fair and obvious and smart policy and good stewardship to see what Quinn has this year, following 2 years of injuries.
No one is going to keep him if he can't contribute and produce, and no one is suggesting they will or should.
