Phillips history says that the Rams defense will be better this year than last year: he has produced that result every time in the past (something like 7 times) and I firmly believe he'll do it again. I'd bet top 10.
The Rams had the 3rd best special teams in 2016 and were 7th in 2015. Retaining Fassel makes it easy for me to think they will have one of the best ST again in 2017.
Perhaps this is a leap of faith but everything I've seen makes me think the Rams offense will be noticeable better this year. I hope beyond hope that they approach middle of the pack.
And a top D, a top ST, and a middle of the pack O could be enough. Here are a few teams from last year to use as a comparison:
The Vikings had the #3 defense, the #9 ST, and the #28 offense and finished 8-8.
Denver had the #4 defense, the #22 ST, and the #27 offense and finished 9-7.
Baltimore had the #7 defense, the #4 ST, and the #17 offense and finished 8-8.
The Giants had the #10 defense, the #15 ST, and the #25 offense and finished 11-5.
