Wentz had several "wow" moments last year, especially early on, and he had the Ragles rolling for a whole.
Goff was a disaster for 95% of his 7 starts.
And there's no debating that fact. Wentz was more NFL ready being from a pro style offense and also being two years older, albeit not as many starts as Goff, but he was under the triumvirate of Peterson, Frank Reich & John DeFlippo vs. Boras, Grohl & Tinky Weinke, no contest. Now with McVay, Matt LaFleur & Greg Olson, Goff should have a better opportunity to be successful.
It was not that difficult early on during camp & preseason last year to see that Goff was not ready and going with Keenum was the right call, but now we will have an opportunity to see what he does in preseason of this year, which might be an indication of what we can expect during the season. I'm not down on Wentz, big, smart and athletic, I believe he'll be special, but I also believe under Sean McVay, Goff can be special too.
Eagles fans are tough, but IMHO, I don't think they are down on Wentz at all, I believe they feel they have their QB that can take them to the promise land, however, as Ram fans, we need more from Goff and this year will be a better barometer to see if the California Golden Boy, truly has the Midas Touch.
