Had he been a 2nd round pick or even mid 1st round, this pick would not be near the disaster it turned out to be.

But #2 overall - makes it such an eye sore.

The combination that he was a development project + he wasn't a player that touched the ball or rushed the QB = Unlikely to reach the value of that asset in his first 2 years in the league.

Hence, a horrific pick from the get go. Only the 2nd coming of Orlando Pace without the Poston as an Agent could justify such an investment of an asset as a #2 pick in the draft.
