You can hear it in McVay's answers to questions about GRob - keeps finding a way to bring it back to other guys. Today it was all about Brown. All this 'staying positive' stuff sounds like he's just not delivering the extra something...or even competing at an equal level.
If you listen to the wind whispering it might be say 'bust'. A lot of lineman - high draft picks wash out. But man, it hurts that we was a #2 overall.
I agree with you that it does seem like his days with the Rams are numbered.
But at 24 he's still young and they will have a year to work with him. (Unless they surprise me and he doesn't make the 53.) I have not watched every play but I've seen him do some good things and some not so good things. I don't think he's been a bust, but as the #2 pick he has a pretty high salary and he's going to want more because that's the way these guys are. "I'm better than I was when they drafted me so I should get more money." The evaluation will be is performing up to his salary and if not, it's time to move on.
In my view the most likely thing to happen will be the Rams do not resign him and he will sign somewhere else for less that what he thinks he'll be getting from the Rams.
My hope is he's a productive player for the Rams for a long time.
