The Apollo program was the reason I got into aerospace engineering. I was in High School when all the fun was going on. It was always cool seeing my helicopter (Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King), aka "Old 66", picking up the astronauts when they splashed down. I started working at Sikorsky Aircraft here in Connecticut in 1977, and the space program was shut down, but we had a huge influx of guys who worked the program. Really cool that we got this connection.
