To put it succinctly... he impressed me most of all. And I'm only half way through the video.
He looks to me more in the "Wentz" vein than Goff or Darnold. Solid, quick with his feet but sure footed... sets well before delivering. Looks to me like when having to move, OR scrambling... he remains more 'aware' of the defense and how his receivers are reacting, (who is getting open), than either Goff or Darnold who both, to me anyway, appear to separate the three things... in other words.... receive the ball, adjust if necessary, deliver... all separate instead of one continuing motion always remaining alert to the entire field... This kids appears alert throughout the play.
Love how his feet and body naturally move 'forward' if he can remain in the pocket. Watch his 'head'.... reminds me of Brady, and Warner... (No, I'm not saying he's of their ilk, just noting a similarity).... we all have 'peripheral' vision but this kid USES it.
Adjusts his body well on backside passes, better than most Pros IMHO. I don't think I saw any pass in which his arm during delivery was out of synch with his body.
Says he's 6'3", he doesn't look it... not doubting it just saying he doesn't look it.
This next is more intuition than anything - he looks young, and what I mean by that is less experienced... but well on his way.
Conclusion.. that's the kind of football player I like to learn about then watch his progress. Thanks - JamesJM
I see some Wentz but I don't think he has the same size and certainly not the same running threat. Like you said, I think he's closer to 6'2 instead of the 6'3 listed. Wentz is 6'5 I believe. He processes faster and is much better working in the pocket though which is a huge plus for me. I'm thinking he could have a Wentz like "rise" before next years draft but the lack of ideal size and better big school QB talent (compared to the Goff/Wentz year) will probably limit HOW high he goes coming from Richmond...or he could totally bust. Either way he's worth watching. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll post guys like this when I can and hopefully get your thoughts on them. I always enjoy when you emerge from the shadows and break down a player.
Oh, and all joking aside, he caught my eye and when I looked into him I found out he's from my new neck of the woods in Downingtown PA so I followed him a bit closer. He didn't disappoint when I had the chance to watch.
