Engram is "the best WR of TE size" in this draft I suppose. He might end up being the best TE years from now. But to call him the best TE in this draft when he is basically a big WR and very raw in the responsibilities of the position and the route tree he'll need to run in the NFL is hyperbole. I see him as a high end talent but a big project who will need a lot of time unless he's used in a very specific manner.
Comparing him to Howard or Njoku is kind of funny to me at least, in that way. Those two are much better prepared for NFL conventional TE responsibilities. I'd rather have Butt (who was well prepared for the NFL under Harbaugh) or Shaheen in round 3 than Engram there in round 2, just my .02 cents.
I think he used the term his "favorite TE in the draft" I'm sure he was projecting....
