i think you heard at the end of the season from a few of the guys that there was a disconnect on offense. i also heard if i reemebr correcting oppsing teams saying that it was easy to tell what the rams were doing. while he seems like he was a real nice guy abnd i hate to say this but i just dont think that boras did a very good job. mcvay has a much better reputation and track record (albeit for 2 seasons) for running an offense. i think we can expect to some improvement across the board from that fact alone.
Not sure how that connects to Havenstein playing poorly in 2016 because he was injured. And of course I was joking. The reason Hav did not play as well in 2016 is because he was playing hurt. At one point people talked about him basically playing on one leg.
Anyway as long as we are off topic--some comments. Rumor #2 got exaggerated. One SF player said that after game 1 and yet somehow in many people's minds several defenses said that all season. Actually it doesn't look like it was the real issue. Rams offense did fairly well, no matter who was at qb, in the 1st quarter. Where they tanked was afterwards, when the offense had to adjust to defensive adjustments to them (the offense). They were better at that in 2015. In 2016, they ranked 17th in offensive points in the first quarter, which is respectable if you have a good defense. But then they ranked 32nd in 2nd quarter points, 31st in third quarter points, and 30th in 4th quarter points. If they just stayed at 17th, it would have been 22.2 points per game, which could have meant at least 3 more wins.
Boras did fine in quarter one and then, as a beginner, was not as good adjusting to defensive adjustments during a game. Cigs was actually better at that.
I do not think McVay would have done THAT much better with a shakey OL, Hav hurt, Gurley underperforming because he didn't dedicate himself in the off-season like he should have, and both a #2 caliber starting qb (Keenum) and an Air Raid college to pro offense conversion project rookie qb.
None of which, again, has to do with the topic, which was that Hav looked bad last year because he was playing hurt.
