Really like Engram. Like him better than Njoku.
The thing is, Engram played a lot of football and has a large body of work. Njoku didn't. Yeah, he has nice size, good speed and good athleticism. But you take Njoku as believing in his potential. Engram has the tape and is your fantasy match-up nightmare (low 4.4's speed). LB's can't stay with him (not even an Ogletree), most SS's can't stay with him, so he has to be covered by CBs. Good luck. He can play the slot, a move TE, probably split out wide occasionally. A moveable chess piece with WR speed, hands and moves at 235 lbs. Jordan Reed has proved what you can do with a player like this, IF you have a OC and HC who have a philosophy of playing match-up offense.
If the Redskins are any proof of what McVay likes to do, he'll run a match-up offense, and so you need match-up type players.
McVay has clearly said he is going to be a pass to run offense. So TEs don't have to be huge guys who are great blockers. All TEs have to be willing to block; but they don't have to be mini-OTs.
I'm crossing my fingers for Engram.
I will take a small trade back and Everett over Engram. Everett much more like Reed.
