No. He was a very good nickel back and with Fisher/Williams the safety duo of Alexander and McDonald just worked.

Alexander didn't fit Wade's D though.

Joyner was never wasted under Wms/Fisher and he had 700 defensive snaps in 2016. In fact in 2017 he had about the same number. He missed games both seasons.

He was good at both positions---nickel, FS---and was therefore never "wasted."

This was about how he would make a good FS with the departure of McDonald and moving Alexander to SS. It was not about how he was "wasted" at nickel previously, because he wasn't.
