Making personnel decisions are fluid ... if one variable in your plan isn't available and then you have to use a different variable, which will modify all of the other intended variables. For example Tru getting tagged for 17 mill instead of the 7 mill he is worth ... changes things.
I agree that strategies change as variables change. That’s the fun part. It’s partly what I enjoy about thinking/planning what I would do.
Now that Tru is tagged, my first plan would be to see if we could negotiate a long term deal with him. Barring that, negotiate a long term deal with another CB like the article 43 posted suggested. Both would release the high cap hit.
If neither of those works, then we gotta start scratching stuff off of the shopping list.
