My take is like most stories, there is at least a grain of sand to massage into this pearl.

I contrast to you, I say we have absolutely no way of knowing if that's true, and any assumption to the contrary is precisely only that--an assumption.

What we have here is a story told by coach, presumably, who might not have even gotten the story right in the first place, and then repeated by a gossip columnist who might not even have gotten right what the coach said, if anything even happened at all. And out of that, we have gotten definitive, "know for sure" posts from people who use that story to trash Goff, to trash the receivers, to trash the coaches, and/or any combination of those things. None of which strike me as standing on anything like solid ground. I just see people running with their already pre-determined take on things and just seizing this half-anecdote (if it is even THAT) as "proving" what they already believed before they heard it.

To me? There's no "there" there.

And there's plenty more solid stuff to think about and criticize and sort through already without this particular gossip bit.
