You never know how much is true but it does seem that we had a coaching problem and that the team lacked unity. The offense was out of date and the players were not all committed and not all in shape. It will be interesting to see how the new coaching staff handles things. It will also be telling how much was Snead and how much was Fisher.
I actually don;t agree with a word of that.
Obviously some things happened in 2016, but I don't think it went the way you say it did. I think the issues were elsewhere.
And of course stuff gets exaggerated. So there's a rumor Gurley showed up out of shape, and this becomes the supposed "truth" that not all the PLAYERS were in shape.
Generally when we deal with gossip at this level it becomes like playing telephone.

This is a serious question, no disrespect intended. In your view, what were the issues?
Because when I read you, I come away with the perception that you think there is no issue with the coaching, culture, talent, scheme, or actually anything. IOW, everything is great.
You haven't been reading me then if that's your impression. I say that with blunt direct honesty. Example: how many times did I point out that if you just look at points per quarter it was obvious Boras had issues adjusting back to defensive adjustments.
"Culture" to me is a meaningless word. It's just one of those things people say when a team loses. People make assumptions based on the sheer fact of losing, or they blow some anecdote up. I think that a coach is in a position to know a team's commitment, desire, energy, morale, and so on. People might as well say "mojo." As in "coach xyz has to fix the team's mojo."
I mostly stay away from it because one recipe for herd board behavior is endless, rancorously confrontive piling on to a minority view. It gets tiring (and tiresome) and makes for bad mojo
It amounts to this...if you post minority views, you are directly and openly asking for a fight. It isn't just well that's his 2 cents, I don't agree, shrug.
On this particular issue...the receivers mass defection...I honestly can't tell if there's anything real to it or not. Even if there were it to me just becomes one of those things that gets blown massively out of proportion, and taken as "proof" of all kinds of different agendas.
