The younger you are the more difference a year, let alone 3 years, makes.
Sorry, but the Steelers/Tomlin thing is worlds apart from the Rams/McVay thing.
Rams are in need of serious new leadership, direction and creativity. They need an older hand with plenty of experience.
Are the players really going to look at a guy that they could have gone to school with and see him as having the answers that the highly experienced guys didn't?
That said, perhaps the Rams have little choice but to throw caution to the wind and take a boom/bust risk.
I wouldn't. And I don't see that in Stan's personality.
But, like I said in another post. If they hire McVay, I'm not going to prejudge. Maybe he'll be the exception to the rule. Unfortunately, trying to find exceptions to the rule is how the Rams have been picking personnel for the last few years, and how has that worked out?
