That is a guy who is the Press Secretary miscast as the President.
That is a guy who doesn't know what he wants, so he's looking for people to tell him what he wants.
That is a guy who values process over product.
And that is a guy who is going to protect his power and status in the organization by ensuring there is no true football expert and visionary leader at an executive level that threatens him. The Head Coach will once again hold the most senior leadership position in the organization beneath him.
He's going to please those who are taken in by platitudes, empty rhetoric and flowery collaboration narratives, but he's not going to be the guy who drags the dream of NFL Championships into reality. We will have to hope he gets lucky and stumbles upon a Head Coach so irrepressibly awesome that he does.
One other thing that interview makes painfully clear is, he is the person both leading the search and making the decision on the next Head Coach. This organization is still lost.
