I would call it a golden opportunity for a new GM, provided he were given proper authority.
This could be the best opening for candidates for GM to come along in literally years, if Kroenke/Demoff are smart enough not to put the cart before the horse. Get that GM first, dammit!
But if they choose to give final say to another HC instead, then they're really choosing to go with a hamstrung Director of Player Personnel while giving him the GM title, once again.
And a situation that lends itself to great difficulty in assigning responsibility. Yet again, I might add.
Surely they've learned THAT lesson, don't you think?
