If they put the kid in there at HC he'll be under his dad's shadow, and I think he's made his own bones in this league now long enough that he'd be wary of that. So from Kyle's perspective there are drawbacks there, where some team will want HIM as the guy vice his dad lurking around as some sort of safety net.
From Mike's perspective what if his kid struggles his first go-round? Is that something he's prepared to deal with, firing his kid? Even if he's an advisor he will be linked so strongly to the kid that maybe the owner and Demoff won't want to include him in key talks concerning the future too, which is counterproductive to any sort of key front office position.
Finally, from Stan's perspective I think he's gonna go one way or the other:
1. He will go with someone who's established, a been there done that type, which means Mike is a top name on his list.
2. He will elect to build around a hot coordinator and "grow" the guy into the coach he wants.
Lots of talk on the radio that insinuates 1 is the way things will go. Not that they have any real knowledge, mind you, they're guessing just like we are.
