Bottom line, this organization was burned on hot coordinators (Linehan, Spags) and they wanted somebody with proven experience. Somebody who would bring stability long-term. At the time, Fisher was the best option.
I don't think Fisher was the best option at the time. But, obviously Kroenke thought he was.
If he really wanted long term stability, he'd have been much better off focusing on bringing in a proven GM to run the operation and hire the Head Coach rather than taking a Head Coach who had never run the operation and making him king.
Kroenke was reportedly enamored with the Patriot/Belichick model at the time.
