this is one of those things where we do not know what we do not know.
Fisher thot Goff wasn't ready...then, he thot he was ready 9 weeks later.
Goff does not look overwhelmed to me like he did in the PS. Goff looks like a vet after his 2nd game.
He made throws that were special...what if Goff is actually GOOD?! Will it be enough to save Fisher?
Probably not for the fans...but Stan may think so.
GR is one of the most frustrating players on the team for me. I mean, flat-footed, goony Haverstein is solid at RT...
and the problem is with our most physically gifted OT??? Whaaa?
I can still see why they drafted GR...and the kid has a great work ethic and staggering physical specimen for the position....but somethin is missing for him. I don't know if GR will ever learn
that missing thing or they move him inside and he shines.
I dunno...but I doubt I will ever want to draft an OT in the Top 5 ever again after bein burned twice in 8yrs with #2 overall picks.
I ALWAYS want to trade down with Top 5 picks...that's just me and though I liked GR alot I thot we would instead of selecting him.
oh well, you lose some...and then you
lose some.
This is just one of those things, where if you wanted Fisher gone, Goff playing well means he could have played sooner.
If you are neutral or don't mix the 2 issues up it's open to different views.
If you are pro Fisher staying then of course a coach knows when a qb is ready.
What it is NOT is clear evidence of anything. It's just one of those "people see what they want" things.
10 years from now? It won't even be an historical footnote. The exact game Goff started in 2016 will matter to no one.
Meanwhile, all I know is, he looks like he belongs out there, even though there's still some rookie stuff (like throwing high). And he did not look ready in the pre-season.
Plus he really does look like he's going to be a good one for a long time.
