Not sure if PhdRam's rant was directed solely at me, but I would like to point out a few things:
Firstly, my post commented solely on the 2016 crop of Los Ramos Draft Picks, and their lack of contribution/impact in the first half of this season.
Secondly, I have called Les Snead, over the years (mostly on other Ram Fan sites) "our best Horse-Trader since Don Klosterman." Since his raping of Redskins Owner Snider in 2012 on the RGIII heist, to saddling Jerrah Jones with Morris NoPatrickPeterson Claiborne and moving down to grab a very serviceable Michael Brockers.......to his plucking valuable Ram pieces from the annual UDFA junkpiles a la:
Rodney McLeod
Johnny Hekker
Benny Cunningham
Cory Harkey
Malcolm Brown
Chase Reynolds
Matt Longacre
Ethan Westbrooks, etc etc.......to my way of thinking, Les Snead has been pretty masterful at picking up talented players for my team!
Les Snead is also Les Sneaky when it comes to plucking bodies from Media-Darling HC's Practice Squads like:
Troy Hill in Week 17 last year from under Bill Bellicheck's nose; and...
Marqui Christian just a few weeks ago from Zona, when Bruce Aryans got sloppy.....
I also applaud our garnering of Dominique Easley (also from Bellicheck's team), and the trade for Mark HumanExocetMissle Barron for MiceNut Draft Picks to Lovie NotTheSharpestToolInTheDrawer Smith.....
....so I am no Les Snead basher. On the contrary, I think he is smart and shrewd....and as pointed out by some others, his wheelhouse, so far with Los Ramos, seems to be the Day Three Picks, like EJ Gaines, Greg Zuerlien, Mo Alexander, et al, where just as in his UDFA successes, Snead has a flair to overachieve.
Yeah, yeah....there will be the Peads, Quicks, and Bobby Wagner flubbs......hey, it happens because there are 31 other groups of smart, shrewd guys picking TOO!, ka-peesh!!!??? But overall, Snead (and Fisher, I guess) have greatly improved the standard of personnel on Los Ramos Roster since that 2011 group of Used Car Salesmen that Spagvaney left for Snead & Fisher!!
One thing that PhdRam's rant did cause me to do though was re-examine my list of 2016 Rams Draft picks....
....and make me realize that I had shortchanged Snead by one body!!!
Namely, our 2016 FIFTH Round Pick was spent in the 2015 Supplemental Draft on Isaiah Battle the OT from Clemson who was going to be an academic washout in 2016.
So with due deference to PhdRam's questioning the tone of my post lamenting the meagre contributions to our first season back in Los Angeles SO FAR from the 2016 Rams Draft crop, let me properly finish my list that I submitted last night:
To wit, please insert the following between Pharoh Cooper and Temmarick Hemingway.....
" Isaiah Battle.....bupkus"
Better now??!!!
