and i dont think your wrong but to me those are the reasons you do it...because the "book" says you dont thus its unexpected. plus i think mccoy would have run over us and we never get the ball back. so in essence they made a stand on special teams instead of defense and quite honestly ST is probably the best unit considering all of the defense that was out.
He blamed the fans after the game for it not working because their roar " gave it away." The fans! It didn't have anything to do with every team in the league is waiting for him to fake punt did it coach?
No other coach would have punted there with 3 time outs and over 3 minutes to play except this HC. Just like they would not have challenged the Quick drop last week or gone for two the week before.
That wasn't "blame." That's not what heard in his comment. I mean people get mad at coaches when teams lose, but...let's maintain at least some perspective.
I saw him as crediting the defender who busted the play for being heads-up and recognizing what the noise meant and getting in a position to stop the play.
