Re: Why make it complicated?

Would it be different if his heel came down inbounds and his toe part of his foot came down out of bounds?

How many times has a runner had the outside of his foot touch out of bounds, after another part of his foot touched in bounds, and play stops because he was out of bounds?

A toe drag where the tips of a shoe touches inbounds and then dragged to out of bounds is much different than part of a players foot being in bounds, and part being out of bounds at the same time. That is the difference, part of his foot was on the ground in bounds, and another part was on the ground out of bounds at the same time.
