I agree. The analysis isn't so great anymore. BUt, how can you analyze GRob in comparison to even a good tackle like Fred Miller or Ryan Tucker (yep, I know they are RTs). How can you compare Tavon to Az Hakim/Proehl...come on?
How can you compare Jenks to Aenas or Todd Lyght or Dre Bly?
Players like
Rob Hav (smart and great tech),
Barron, OgleTree, tavon, Gurley, Quinn, Brockers, Donald and Hayes and Hekker are worth analyzing to the max on almost every play on the field! However, many, many players with 1st-2nd-3rd round pedigree like Britt, Quick,L Joyner, Saffold and TJ make so many mistakes and yet have talent, but they are 'mis placed' and maybe even miscast because of Fisher's systems or friendly coaching systems. TJ would have been a great thumper like his dad in the old 49er system, but in our system he has to do too much considering is abilities....dad was slow and his son can't cover, either. In our system he has to cover TEs and RBs, and he can't really (see AZ game #4 2015. I love that the Rams have TJ, but I can only analyze so much his heat seeking missile tackles...he falls short in many aspects, as does Roger Saff...considering how intelligent they both are it makes he say 'what is Fish doing'?
It makes me sick to watch a lot of what I watch. GRob makes every mistake a tackle can make, and yet, he is still I love to to watch when he manhandles someone---but analze GROB?? Are you joking. He needs coaching. Youngblood and Dryer were 217-220 and 235 per announcers inside info (Brookshire) and yet they were never mandhandled consistently because of their technique. Even Quinn, who is an awesome talent, makes some huge mistakes that are just lazy....no other D coordinator would allow but the Fish is a buddy-buudy coach.
Also, you have a head coach running a 'do not lose the game offense' in the era of 400 yard passing games. We have been a bottom 8 or so offense every year from 2007 to 2016. How can you really analyze that?
SO, yes you are right, the analysis can't compare. It is like comparing Obama to JFK.....farcical a bit.
Sorry, I need to settle down a bit.
