I think it's getting the play right.... if, for example, the WR or TE or RB isn't on the same page as Goff that would be bad. That Goff is currently having, perhaps, to think too much... slowing his game. Maybe several things none equaling 'he's bad'.

OR... maybe I'm just hopelessly hopeful.

His head is spinning. Rams have a lot on the qb. Protections, built-in audibles, reading for sight adjustments from the receivers, all of which entails taking pre-snap reads, dropping back from center on rhythm while verifying pre-snap reads with post-snap reads, sometimes turning his back to the defense to fake hand off for play action then turning back and re-acquiring the defense, and he has done none of it before. Even getting the depth from center exactly right and timed right on 3, 5, and 7 step drops. And that's not to mention calling protections for particular blitzes or altering the play at the LOS to get a receiver to go to the right place to take advantage of a blitz. Etc. etc. etc.

I don't doubt for a second he CAN do it...but, it all has to be 2nd nature level.

Or they could throw him out there and have him learn the hard way. But that's a judgment call and they elected not to do it.
