I think there is, (not you specifically Moklerman), a belief that what Fisher means by 'not being ready' is that he's 'not very good right now'.... or something like that. I don't think that's it.
I think it's getting the play right.... if, for example, the WR or TE or RB isn't on the same page as Goff that would be bad. That Goff is currently having, perhaps, to think too much... slowing his game. Maybe several things none equaling 'he's bad'.
OR... maybe I'm just hopelessly hopeful.
If he's so bad that he has to continue to sit behind a guy that only throws a TD once a month, then the scouting department and whoever signed off on drafting him needs to be fired.
The only way the "sit and learn" approach is acceptable is if there is an established, starting caliber QB in the lineup winning games. The only way the Rams win games is if the defense manages it so I don't see why they can't have Goff in there. There's no reason he can't be bad on third downs and inept at scoring.
Yup. Either the scouting department totally blew it, or Fisher is just being stubborn.
The weird thing about that is the Fisher said when they drafted Goff that he was gonna play sooner than people think.
Still, I really have a hard time believing that they blew it to the point that he can't even get on the field. These QB get examined with a fine tooth comb in the draft nowadays from a million different places.
