They have perhaps the weakest group of wide receivers I have ever seen on any NFL team. Tavon Austin was a huge investment in terms of a high draft pick and a huge salary, but his production is laughably bad. In 2015, he was ranked 99th in total receiving yards and his average per catch of 9.1 yards was 119th. With a connection to Appalachian State, I doubt that any Rams fan had a greater interest in seeing Brian Quick make it, but he does not belong in the NFL. The fact that Quck is still on the roster speaks volumes about the receiver corps and the poor judgment of the coaching staff.
The defensive backfield has glaring weakness that are going to have a big impact on the W-L record. If Coty Sensabaugh remains on the field, he will be abused all year long. Any time the opponent needs a first down or a big play, they will go after him. They also have an unproven player at safety, a lack of any depth, and a key player who has not proved he is going to return to form after an injury.
The LB corps took a double whammy when Ogletree was moved from a position at which he was a contributor to MLB, where it appears he will be a liability.
The DL may not be all it's cracked up to be. Robert Quinn appears to be a shell of the player he once was.
Is there any reason to even mention QB?
Worst of all, there is a clueless coaching staff that has the misguided conception that you can win football games without attacking more than 5 to 10 yards down the field in the passing game.
