First, PSJ nice post. I know it's hard to be patient, but it is way smarter to wait. I believe Goff can be a big difference maker like Gurley who didn't start game 1 and win rookie of the year or AD who didn't start and starred his first season.
Max, if you want to discuss the trade do so with a real breakdown of the trade. One if the two firsts you quote was the mid first rounder from 2016 to go up for number one overall. It was a huge climb and of course required more pieces. So this year we traded our 1st for their first. Right? We also traded away next tear's first. If we have a fair year in the 7-9 win area this will be a mid first pick. Pretty much like where we were going to draft this past draft. Right? Ok. So we also traded away two seconds. You're right here. We did. One was a freebie from the SB trade and next year's 2 should be middle of the round or lower.
We have done a pretty awful job with 2's if you think about it. So, these do count. Two 3's. Right. We gave away our 3rd this year, a middle third round pick. Maybe this pick will turn into a good player but it's a long shot. Next year's 3rd should be lower and we probably pick up a comp 3 from Jenkins FA. And be draft standards a 3rd next year is like a 4th this year. These lower picks are like wipes in your car full of toddlers. Just hand them out. And didn't we get picks back from the Titans too? I think so. Like a 6th or something? Anyway, I don't know if Goff will be a superstar or not. No one does. But he looks like he can be. And if he is this trade will look genius a couple of years down the road. If he's the next Montana, or Rodgers are you really going to bellyache about a couple of third round picks? Nope. Not at all. And nobody else will either.
