I don't expect much from Goff tonight, just more of the same display of confusion and unpreparedness that you'd expect from a Fisher QB..
Well, see, to me, you're seeing it a certain way. This situation is bound to provoke a lot of different reactions. Mine is different from yours.
So for example on the unpreparedness of the Fisher qb. Way too sweeping a generalization for my taste. You mean like Keenum or Mannion. Who just look lost out there.
Or Bradford back when they won 5 comeback wins with him (though 1 was a tie) out of 23 starts, under conditions that weren't even as good as now.Or like the start of the 2015 season when Foles was fine and playing effectively.
Unlike for example Paxton Lynch, who being coached by Elway and Kubiak, has firmly positioned himself as the #2 behind 2nd year guy Trevor Siemian. Siemian, in turn, and to his credit, looks at least as good as Mannion.
It's just that year, Max, where the teams that got 1st round qbs were not picking high because they has gone 2-14 or something like that. (This partially applies to Denver, who traded up a bit but obviously not to the top.) None of the 1st round rookies are starting. They all went to teams that had more than the typical team that picks in the top 5. So the long habit of scaling back offenses to start rookies so they could (mostly) not win a lot of games, that's not 2016. (See this is based on the idea that Wentz would be sitting anyway, injured or not.)
The "high pick qb must start" thing has kind of taken a back seat this year.
