IMO. Case is nothing more than a journeyman QB. Your typical game manager. He can win some games but he'll never take you on a deep playoff run. Teams know he has a noodle arm and will design defenses to take away what he's physically able to do. I'm sorry, he just doesn't impress me. He's a great guy, great teammate, but nothing close to an elite QB or someone who can win in the playoffs.
People who defend Keenum are always met by this stuff. He's a game manager, he's a #2.
Who are you arguing with? No one says he is a franchise qb or starter-caliber, yet the critics always seem to think they heard that.
Yes he is a game manager and a #2, and he's good at both. In fact he's probably the best Rams #2 going back years since Jamie Martin, and Martin had the GSOT personnel and never had CK's ability to improvise. And there are bad, mediocre, and average game managers....but CK is a good one.
So why act like anyone said he's a threat to become a permanent starter? No one thinks that. There's no one to argue with on that.
BUT given who and what he is, yes, a lot of people do underestimate him. They don't see what makes him tick and why he IS good at his role. They just seem to miss that stuff. Hint: it won;t be physical, measurables stuff (though he is tough and has a pretty quick release).
