You just said in another thread that the defense is no longer strong enough to carry the team? Here you are asking why am I giving the coaches the benefit of the doubt.
For 4 years this defense has carried this team. They have won 7, 7, 6, and 7 games with a passing game that easily ranks year after year as among the worst in football. They have won those games with Hill, Davis, Clemons... Goodness I mean it's been a tough stretch man.
Imagine this defense playing with a lead. Have you forgotten games in the past at Indianapolis, against the Hawks EVERY YEAR, Denver, heck ....last year at Green Bay. Foles threw 4 ints 2 in the redzone a third outside the 30 and another that was returned for 6. The defense played its tail off but the QB crapped the bed
I will say this again. Just decent QB play means this team is 3 games better. Now I have no confidence in Fisher beyond that but you can't win with the kind of play the Rams have had at QB. And the rankings for this defense suffer because of the poor offense.
Now if you want point to Fisher overall or consistency I have no problem with that. I get it. Let's just be truthful and balanced. Defense and personnel decisions on that side of the ball are not this teams problem.

Why are you going to give them the benefit of the doubt, because they've built better defenses than offenses?

Have they built defenses that were top 5, or that performed consistently?
This defense has had issues that have been problematic for 4 years.
If its not the porous run defense, its the silly penalties.
If its not the mental breakdowns, its the flat performances.
Have you forgotten the Vikings opener, or how about the Skins game?
How about the Whiners or the Bears games?
Maybe the Giants hanging 37 on them?
Man I don't get how anybody could/would give these guys the benefit of anything!
