The defense hasn't been sharp PERIOD
I've given the Rams the benefit of the doubt on letting JJ and McCloud go (actually JJ was gone anyhow). They have drafted so many DBs... Joyner, Alexander, Gaines, Roberson. Gaines had an outstanding rookie season. It was logical IMO for the Rams to keep either JJ or TJ and promote Gaines.
I'm going to give Fisher and Williams the benefit of the doubt on these choices. They have a track record of knowing what they are doing on that side of the ball. We aren't talking about QBs or WRs here.
That being said through two games the unit is not inspiring confidence. I keep going back to previous preseasons and hoping this showing like those is just a sign that the Rams simply do not take the preseason seriously and working out some kinks. Sensabaugh was not brought in to start. He a nickel or dime ideally
I am concerned about the LBs...not so much physically but from a leadership and getting the team in and out of the right plays. Last year in the preseason when JL was hurt remember how sloppy they looked at LB. Also yesterday I saw Tree on a couple of plays being overly aggressive ... I worry about his temperament
I think there is a reason for concern but I am hopeful they put that concern to rest like they have previously, at least on the defensive side of the ball.

The back 7, though? That's a major concern.
