Yes, both Williams and Thomas saw the field tonight. But aside from a couple early targets for Britt, this was the Brian Quick show today as he played nearly the entire game and little to show for it.
Goff's first pass of the night was a quick out to Quick and the ball came out immediately and was on target. I wished I could say that it Sailed through Quick's hands, but that might imply that his hands were actually in position to catch it. He barely got his hands up and it was like he didn't think the ball was coming to him.
He had another drop later in the game that wasn't the best pass from Goff. But damn! He DID get two hands on it and it was the type of play a veteran WR has to make to help out a struggling QB.
No, neither Thomas or Williams were targeted much, but I got the feeling that the coaching staff wanted to give Quick the last benefit of the doubt before they decide to give the youngsters a shot. For the life of me, I don't know what Quick offers that Thomas or Williams doesn't (at this stage of their careers) - blocking (maybe)?
