So, this has had me thinking for awhile now..... and after posting this I'll eat crow as a new deal with Williams will instantly be announce by the Rams!!
However, I'm wondering if the Snead stories of hoping to get a new deal done with Kyren are slight smoke screens. I like Kyren, bar a few untimely fumbles, he brings a top level RB to the Rams backfield................... as long as your prepared to forgo long explosive runs. Is he a back I'd like to have on the Rams, sure. Do I think McVay loves having him as the pulse of the RB room, definitely. So I also think McVay wants a more explosive option, definitely yes from what's been said since the end of the season.
But, also on the eve of an absolutely fantastic draft for RB's, would it make sense to stall a new deal for Kyren until after the draft. For me, absolutely, this would make sense. What if the Rams are able to add for a lower round pick one of the more interesting RB's, either a more physical runner and or an explosive type. Would the pause button be pushed for this season on a new deal or at least of a lower value maybe?
