The tickets are of course available from outlets online, Ticketmaster being the biggest probably. My point was that it isn't just season ticket holders selling seats to opposing fans. Single game tickets are being purchased by fans of opposing teams.
The question remains.........why aren't Rams fans jumping on those tickets the moment they go up for sale? Why are opposing teams fans buying them before Rams fans?
If opposing fans weren't buying those tickets my hunch is that there would be a lot of empty seats. Almost unheard of from a winning team in any market let alone the second largest in the nation.
FFS Stafford had to go to a silent snap count in the playoffs on his home field. The NFC title game. I've never, ever seen or heard of that happening in any game in any sport in my entire life.
This is a team that has delivered two trips to the SB and playoff appearances and winning seasons. Where are the fans? If this was a team that was posting 3,4,5 win seasons and playing really poorly and had no stars or talent I could understand the imbalance. But that is not the case.
It's not the cost, that price tag is sky high in every market. It's not the product on the field. It's not a poor game day experience in a janky stadium.
What is it then?
the very very small amount of tickets available go on sale to the public as soon as the schedule is released...95% of the tickets are already held by SSL owners,
That small amount of leftovers are mopped up by people who usually just want to flip them....there is no way to control that.
The Rams fans that actually go to the games are mostly season ticket holders, unfortunately there is a lot of season ticket holders who are not Rams fans and just sell most of thei tickets for a nice profit every year....Ever notice how most of the seats behind the opposing team is usually full of the opposing team fans? Those are the seats that non Rams fan season ticket holders usually buy knowing they hold the most value as the big name teams come to town.
There are over 25 million people within an hour or so drive from SoFi.... There are a ton of people in the area that are fans of other teams, especially the big brand teams.
It is going to take years and years to convert them if that is even possible...it is going to take decades
There is a core of about 30-40K Rams fans that actually go to every game but it holds 77K
Next year it won't be nearly as bad due to the number of unpopular teams that are scheduled... It usually only a problem when the band wagon teams that are cureently good come to town.
