Yes, ideas that changed the game somehow should be included in the formula.
In the modern era the one that comes to my mind would be Walsh? and the advent of the West Coast offense.
Did someone come up with it, Sid Gillman? and he copied or was it his idea?
Another to add might be the ability to adapt/change based upon an opponent.
Of course you have to have good players to do it.
Recent examples that come to mind are Spags with his D and Belichick with his D. I'm sure there are others.
