I don't necessarily agree with Snead's "If it is inevitable, make it immediate."
That in itself is a knee jerk reaction. Sometimes it is better to go to battle, or work, with a better, but troubled team, then it is to dump someone because of foreseen problems down the road.
All throughout the civil war commanding generals kept lower generals that they didn't get along with in place because they were the best option. I've done that in my profession as a dept. manager. Keeping a good and seasoned pita person in place is better than having a weak person try to fill the spot.
I don't know enough of all the details, but I don't think his statement is a pearl of wisdom at all. I'd prefer that they kept Jones while other developed.
