To me, the Rams only go as far as Stafford takes him. If this TE was going to take some heat off and potentially help keep Stafford upright, then that all makes sense to me. He appeared to me, not to be a toy, but to be able to do quite a bit to help Stafford.
On the flip side, you can also keep Stafford upright by running the ball and not playing from behind. So Verse, Fiske and Colum are great picks to help with this. To get 3 legit potential starter quality players… The Rams have a 2 year window likely with Stafford. I am all in… Improve now. Move the stop gap players to back up.
I would have liked to have gotten a 5th back in the Fiske trade but am I not going to go through with it because of a 5th??? The Rams are likely to be picking late so that 2 is very close to a 3rd…
That Snead predicted the run on DT… hats off. A+ draft all the way for me.
I didn't have any players that I didn't want the Rams to draft... I didn't want a mid round QB.
Re: Bowers. Its not so much that I would have disliked getting Bowers for those reasons and because I love me a good TE so I'm hardly going to argue with you. Especially since this whole thread is about someones personal feelings:-) I just felt the price would have been too high compared to what we could have gotten... and got.
Everything else we agree upon.
