Here is what I thought was a fun thought experience now that we have several months before anything really interesting happens again (Unless we have some FA fun of course:-))
We naturally all discuss the picks made but which position or player that we COULD have chosen and especially if there was speculation that we might are you happy we DIDN'T pull the trigger on?
Personally?
If it actually was more than a smokescreen or a simple non-determined check to see what the price would be, I'm happy that the supposed trade-up for Bowers didn't go through. As good as I'm sure he is and as much as I looooooove a really good TE, and is sad we have never had one in 20 or more years, (No offense Mr. Higbee. I think you do fine and maybe even better than fine for what your skillset is) considering what holes we closed with the picks we DID make, I think that no matter what we had paid it would have been way to steep for that position.
Also I'm happy we didn't pick a QB. Now Stafford might end up injury hampered or surprise retiring as well, but I think he can easily last another 2 maybe even 3 years and with JG and if Bennett can actually get his issues/demons aside to cover in those first two games before sliding into PS I thought during the whole pre-draft period that any pick used on a QB before 6th earliest would be a total waste.
Also as Mr. Youngblood has said elsewhere, I'm glad we went for Fiske rather than Newton. Didn't know much about either (College ball is hard to get over here) but all I heard what that he is somewhat similar to Turner so I'd rather have someone with a different skill set than a clone that couldn't complement Kobie even if Newton is the "better athlete" (which is perhaps one of those slightly difficult questions to answer).
Anyone else have any thoughts or names or who just want to tell me I'm and idiot and my thoughts here suck?
