you've had a Playstation on your list... you've talked about it to everyone about how excited you are... it has a game that isn't found on other systems... and you wake up Christmas morning and you jump out of bed, you slept in your clothes so you didn't waste time dressing... you get to the tree and under it, wrapped, you know... is what you have been hoping for... you nervously, anxiously, excitedly start tearing through the paper, you see the gloss of the box shining... this is it... best day ev.... and then.... what is this? an Xbox???? Um, yeah ok, an Xbox is cool too... just kind of had my heart set on a playstation. -- That is how I am picturing Sean McVay when Bowers got selected... and Xbox is still good, just not what he had his heart set on.
As for the saving himself from himself comment... I think giving Stafford target that might give him a cozier security blanket is a solid argument. This team with Goff, again not to bad mouth the guy, but the Rams would have been lucky to win 6 games last year. Stafford elevates the team and is probably one of the best QB's in the league right now... and he is 36 and started his NFL career when Keith Richards was born... So if Bowers gave Stafford an easier target to maybe stave off a few drone crushing hits, I think that's a wise investment.
For me, I would try to add starter quality players right now... not borderline backups or projects, etc. The Rams probably have a two year window. Win now or they probably should have moved up to grab a QB... And I like the F* them picks strategy. I feel like in this draft, if there are some players who have a good chance of being an immediate starter and its a need, or can make the team better... Goodbye 2025 picks. The time is now. If there is a player that can help now and all it cost is a future pick, I say go get him.
The Rams are in a a special place and time with Stafford... I don't care too much about 2027.
