Two things come quickly to mind:
First, of all the positions that might be in play at 19 - Edge, DT, WR, CB, QB - the QB is the only one who won't help the Rams win a Super Bowl in the next 3 years. I get the Jordan Love angle, but Love was inactive every game his rookie year and only got 1 start in years 2 & 3 combined. It wasn't until year 4 that Love did anything and I don't think I want the Rams to draft a QB this year so he can potentially be their starter in 2027.
Second, any player the Rams pick at 19 could flop in the NFL. Can you imagine passing on a potential 2024 starter for a developmental QB who never develops?
And yeah, I know that if they go with a position other than QB that player might not develop into anything, either. But if you're trying to win in a 2024-2026 window don't you at least try to get a guy that will help you do that?
