roster and cap both in good shape at this stage

March 27, 2024 11:25AM
The 61 players will become 85 (picks plus UDFAs) after Draft weekend. I think they are in good shape given the holes they need to fill are dwindling. The White signing in no way precludes them from taking a CB in the top 3 rounds. In fact I hope they do. UDFA will have a harder time making this roster than in 2023. 7th round picks as well for that matter.

As far as cap space, guys like Hoecht and Kendrick are very much on the bubble. Cap savings of $2.98M and $985k, respectively, if released at the end of August. Others like Hunter Long and Atwell are as well and their cap savings numbers if let go are each $1.3M+.

I think they are in good shape with the roster. Flexibility as far as draft options. Feels like Edge, CB, WR, DT, OL all remain the best places to infuse more talent.

With the way the cap works, this has become a bogus question.
